Men’s Wellbeing

Sikh Sanjog has successfully appointed a male therapeutic practitioner to deliver and develop our service for men from the Sikh and wider BAME community. The project will deliver a programme aimed to improve physical and mental health & wellbeing, reduce isolation, loneliness, improve confidence, self – esteem and interpersonal skills. This will be achieved through 1:1 confidential therapeutic support and group-based outings and activities.

Additionally, we aim to support peer networks and support men to access local community-based resources to address inequality and discriminatory barriers. Creating opportunities to educate and support mainstream services to improve their responses to the needs of Sikh and BAME men.

If you would like to learn more about this service or make a referral for support please contact Raj Singh via email at the following email address: [email protected]

Thelma Podcasts

Thelma PodcastsLiving Memory Association is a reminiscence project based in Edinburgh and established in 1986. It believes that reminiscence can bring people together, regardless of their background or age. “It’s a process of sharing, where we learn about other people’s lives. Some life experiences can be unique, others common to us all”.

Living Memory Association launched Thelma Podcast in March 2019. It describe the resulting podcasts as Records and Reminiscence because that’s what they are. A mixture of archive recordings from over the years, and music from our huge collection of donated 78 and vinyl records, so what better use can they be put to than our very own podcasts.

Living Memory Association have published a series of podcasts featuring voices from Edinburgh’s Sikh community.
